Prada Marfa.

This one, more than a picture by itself, it's a testimony of a piece of land art created by Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset. An imitation of a big city Prada Store, just in the middle of nowhere; with real shoes inside, but the doors are never open. Designed to slowly fade away over the years. Someone called it "a cruel mirage".

Christo,
Did you actually go to Valentine or Marfa, TX. If so, I hope you had a great time in West Texas! The Prada Marfa piece was quite controversial in town with the locals. And not just the cowboys, actually many of the local artists (emigrants from far away places like LA and NY) actually had some of the most negative reactions to the piece... Personally, I'm still not sure what to think of it. (Maybe it will age well.) You can go to our blog at http://www.marfa.org to find more. Or straight to here: http://www.marfa.org/2005/09/prada-marfa-wrap-your-head-around-this.html

Ya'll come back, ya hear?,
